known for its collection of Japan’s hottest new series, thrilled fans at
the highly anticipated Anime Expo Industry Panel. The hosts of HIDIVE’s
panel, Star Butler and Jacki Jing from Netflix’s The Circle, took the stage
and made several exciting announcements, including a trio of acquisitions
and upcoming English DUBCAST editions. To top it off, the audience was
treated to the U.S. subtitled premiere of Level 1 Demon Lord and One Room
Hero, a hilarious fantasy-comedy series from Kadokawa, set to premiere on
July 3 exclusively on HIDIVE.
The most anticipated acquisition on the list was The Dreaming Boy is a
Realist, the highly awaited rom-com from Pony Canyon, which will join
HIDIVE’s new Summer Simulcast Season. Based on the popular light novel
series by Okemaru and illustrated by Saba Mizore, The Dreaming Boy is a
Realist will premiere on July 3 and be available exclusively on HIDIVE. The
series is directed by Kazuomi Koga, written by Michiko Yokote, and produced
by Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ.
Adding to the excitement, HIDIVE confirmed the return of three beloved
shows. The surprise announcement revealed that Oshi No Ko will be back for
a second season, alongside the news that both the spy thriller series Spy
Classroom and the heartwarming rom-com slice of life series The Dangers in
My Heart will also return for second seasons. These shows will be
exclusively available on HIDIVE as part of the summer and winter simulcast
seasons, respectively.
In addition to the acquisitions, HIDIVE unveiled three upcoming DUBCASTs
scheduled for release later this year. Fans can look forward to the English
dub of The Dangers in My Heart Season 1 and KAIJI: Ultimate Survivor Third
Arc debuting this summer, followed by The Eminence in Shadow 2nd Season
debuting in the fall. The Eminence in Shadow 2nd Season will mark a
significant milestone as the first HIDIVE simulcast series available in
both sub and dub versions, airing on the same day as the TV broadcast in
Japan when it premieres in October during the Fall Simulcast Season. To
conclude the English dub news, HIDIVE treated the audience to an exclusive
clip of the brand-new English dub of Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!,
featured as part of Sentai’s upcoming Blu-Ray home video complete
collection set. The set is scheduled for release on July 25 and is
currently available for pre-order.
