MonkeyCon is Montgomery County’s comic con! This one day event will be held at the Gaithersburg community center (Bohrer Park) and will feature anime screenings, vendors selling the coolest stuff, comics, seminars and panels, food trucks, contests, and of course: cosplay (costumes)! Everyone is encouraged to come dressed as their favorite hero, comic, or anime character. Our cosplay contest will exhibit the best costumes of the day and winners will receive handsome prizes! We will also be joined by Maryland’s premiere superhero cosplay group, Superhero Causeplay Volunteer Support who commonly attends children’s hospital, library, and other community events. We will also have stormtroopers (and perhaps an appearance by Vader himself) when the 501st Legion, Old Line Garrison Star Wars cosplay group arrives. It is just $10 per person to attend through July 6, then it will be $15 at the door the day of the event. We also have a limited amount of VIP passes that include MonkeyCon stickers and a t-shirt which must be purchased online prior to June 6. Bring the whole costumed family to this one-day super event Sunday August 6 from 10am to 4pm.
